Love, healing and perspective

Creation and survival of the self is obviously an act of willpower, the amount of willpower required
is directly proportional to the individual physical limitations. Healing, however, is not an act of willpower during the act, it is a willpower before the act. The willpower to study the ailment, study ways to heal it or ease the pain, ask for help, prepare the working space and all the other necessary steps are quite required for healing to be efficient and healthy for the healer and the patient in the long term. While you could be born with the best possible healing talent in the universe from birth it would not make you a healer, the decision to apply that talent for the health and well being of the patient is what makes you a healer.

Willpower is only one of the first steps to learning healing. What is far more important than willpower is love. Without willpower you wont have an impact but without love you wont have a positive impact. The healer is only a conduit for the desire of the patient to change who he is now to who he wishes to be. In that sense the healer is a conduit but not to higher powers, simply to the patient in front of him and the desires of the patient. As the desires of the patient isn’t necessarily the same as of the
desires of the healer it is always important to remember to act out of love and acceptance of the patient as he is or the healer will stop being a healer and start being a creator and a judge. Being a judge is
necessary for life in general but it is not necessary or even beneficial during healing.

If the healer believes the patient wants health then the healer will try to give the patient health, but if the patient really desires to be noticed and desires love from those around him then giving him health can be counterproductive to what the patient desires in the long term. It is of course possible to break apart a person and program them to be healthy or ill but that is also not what healing is about. Healing is, in the simple term, about generating health to the patient. There are however many situation where healer has to be more than a healer, if health is the only thing strived for then people who are old or seriously ill and are going to die will be outside of your healing abilities. A healer should be more of a guide in a journey than a Mr. Fixit. That is why it is of critical importance to love the patient without any kind of judgment, it is not the place of the guide to judge before a
path is chosen. Once it is clearly established what the patient wants then pointers and judgment in regard to what the patient wants and what the patient is doing. All these judgments should come from the view of what the person says they want and no personal preference of emotion of the healer should be involved.

That being said love is always the thought that should be held when healing. And by love I mean not love for any particular thing, but rather love in general and love for all. Healing and interacting with people in a way that benefits them is always based on love, but if you love only a specific type of person or a specific personality trait on your patient during healing, you will invariably seek to promote that personality trait in the patient without realizing it. Love for only one personality trait generates only warmth for that personality trait and traits not loved by the healer can seem much colder since choosing such a trait would cut the patient from the energies of the healer and through that force the desire of the healer on the patient. I may be repeating myself but this is of the utmost importance.

So while it is of the utmost importance for life and the continuation of life to have an perspective and have preferences. For the purpose of healing preferences should not be held as such a preference can very easily change the balance between the healer and patient into a master-student relationship. While such a relationship is possible a student gained simply because a healer couldn’t contain their own desires is hardly a sign of merit. If the healer starts to believe that they are in a position to choose what personality traits in the patient are preferable the healer starts to believe that they have some right to choose for the patient. When in reality the situation between the healer and the patient should work for the benefit of the patient and not serve the moral or preference structure of the healer. While a completely non judgmental state is impossible to achieve in the conscious mind as long as we live in this level, glimpses of such state of existence are possible. However, for the purpose the healing and optimal performance during it, it is preferable for the healer to set aside all their worries and personal preferences and focus on love, loving the patient as they are, as they can be, as they have been, as they fear being and listening and being aware of what the patient wants and what is in their best interest.

The best way to accomplish a successful healing as I see it is simple. Love the patient, forget your worries for the duration of the healing and set aside any judgment or preference you might have.
